Paleo Ice Cream fAq

1. What does paleo mean?
Paleo is short for paleolithic, which refers to pre-modern human history. The "paleolithic" era spans from about 2.6 million years ago to about 10,000 years ago. During that period of time, humans evolved to consume and thrive on certain foods. Those foods make up the "Paleo Diet," which is a style of eating many follow for optimal gene expression.

2. Why are your ice cream recipes considered healthy?

The ice cream flavors in The Paleo Ice Cream Cookbook are considered healthy because of the ingredients they are made up of. In large part, my ice cream recipes are made up of foods that human beings evolved to eat. The foods that are used in my recipes are natural, minimally processed foods that have impressive nutritional profiles.

3. Are the ice cream recipes difficult to make?
Not at all! These recipes are so easy, even a modern caveman can do it! Seriously though, they take very minimal effort and time.

4. Can you make the recipes if you don't have an ice cream maker?
Absolutely. Instead of putting the mixture in an ice cream maker you instead put it in the freezer. It will take longer to freeze, and the texture will be harder when you take it out. As far as flavor goes though...still tasty as can be!

5. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I love all 31 flavors in my eBook, but my favorite is mocha. Absolutely delicious!

6. Why 31 flavors?
My favorite ice cream shop as a kid was Baskin Robbins, which was famous for its 31 flavor selection. Although the nutritional value of Baskin Robbins did not serve as an inspiration for my eBook, the flavors and taste certainly did.

7. Is there anything in your eBook other than recipes?
You betcha. Also included in the eBook are suggestions for substitute ingredients (such as stevia instead of honey for those that prefer a sugar-free ice cream and cream instead of coconut milk for those who prefer the taste of cream).
